Company description

A group of professionals came together after they witnessed that we are living in a time of rapid and radical social change, and the fact that such change will inevitably affect the nature of those disciplines that both reflect our society and help shape it.
Having witnessed how theatrical performance can constitute as one of the richest and also the most complex forms of communication, therefore they saw it prudent and necessary to form the organization.
Their main objective of establishing the organization was that they will provide an alternative space for up-coming and aspiring artists, also offer skills to those who cannot afford to go to mainstream institutions.
To achieve the initiative was fusing, drama, music and song, dance and movement, design and fine arts as a collective. Each discipline will seek to encourage rather than resist the process of change, to stretch rather than reinforce the boundaries that currently define theatrical arts.
We envisage creating space where artists can express their artistic ability while they sharpen their skills through workshops and performance.
Through our programmes the organization will serve as a school of thought and a platform to showcase new and existing work, and also use the arts to develop communities both urban and rural, giving more attention to women.
We want to create new methods of analysis, fusing old methods that do not have limitations so that they communicate current views in relation to society and the society flourish.
The same interest should communicate wider anthropological and sociological areas of investigation which have begun to involve scrutiny of the nature of art itself and of its relation to our whole way of life.
“Art is life and life is art” therefore Rare Arts Productions was established as a Non Profit Organisation.

We use theater arts as a medium of intervention for community development our main focus is women empowerment.

We also conduct drama workshops to schools and community members we also do performances.
