The ICFR is an internationally known and respected forestry research centre of excellence.
It is fully autonomous and is funded by the South African Forest Industry.
Research at the ICFR is focused on developing technology and expertise in growing trees sustainably, profitably and responsibly, to benefit all stakeholders in plantation forestry in South Africa. Research is conducted through three multidisciplinary programmes:
